Children, youth and volunteering
Since 2002: camps, mentoring, youth exchanges with Wales, the Arad youth council and the Friends of PRO volunteer network.
First area proposed for the restart
Pro Prietenia Arad Foundation
Since 2001 we have worked in Arad, Romania, with young people, families and public institutions. After a period of reduced activity, we are preparing to restart our programmes step by step, and we are looking for partners to help.

We describe them as they were. None of them runs as a service today. Each one restarts only when it has a coordinator and secured funding.

Since 2002: camps, mentoring, youth exchanges with Wales, the Arad youth council and the Friends of PRO volunteer network.
First area proposed for the restart
Goods for families, help for older people, equipment for people with disabilities.
Proposed for a pilot, if resources allow
School campaigns on drugs, violence and human trafficking, from 2008.
Past experience
Work with Arad Penitentiary and the Arad Probation Service, from 2006.
Past experience

180
families supported with donated goods over 6 campaign days in 2010.
1.440
children and young people took part in play-based learning in 2010. 72 teachers and educators completed the course.
27
school and university student volunteers in the network launched in 2010, with more than 30 actions by 2011.
Our archive covers 2002-2011 well. A period followed in which our activity fell sharply. We say so openly and treat it as part of the foundation’s history.
2001
The foundation is registered in Arad. Support for people and families facing hardship is one of its first areas of work.
2010
The Friends of PRO volunteer network begins. In the "Arad People for Arad People" campaign, young people collect and sort goods for 180 families.
Reduced activity
Public documents from this period are added to the Transparency section as the board verifies them.
Now
We are restarting gradually, and only with initiatives we can keep going beyond the first year. We publish what we are preparing and how contributions will be used.
A four-stage relaunch proposal over 12 months. It is not yet a commitment. It starts only once there is an approved budget, a named lead and a clear purpose for the money.
Team, needs, partners, budget and procedures confirmed.
One youth and volunteering initiative and, if resources allow, one community-support initiative.
Interim report and written decisions.
We continue what worked and publish the annual report.
A donation by bank transfer, in lei, euro, dollars or pounds. If your bank allows it, you can set up a monthly standing order yourself.
Sponsorship under a written agreement, for an agreed purpose and amount, with a report at the end.
Funding for preparing the relaunch or for a defined programme, with a budget, timeline and indicators.
Time, services or equipment where there is a real need. Volunteer roles will be announced once we can coordinate a team.
