Children, youth and volunteering
Our longest-standing area of work, and the first we want to restart.
What we did
We have worked with young people since 2002. The foundation’s records list 11 funded youth projects, from camps and mentoring to play-based learning and exchanges with Wales.
We coordinated two youth networks: the Arad Local Youth Council, under the foundation’s patronage, and Friends of PRO, our volunteer network launched in 2010.
From the archive
- 2008 and 2009: two youth exchanges with partners in Bridgend, Wales.
- 2009-2011: the Arad Local Youth Council, 11 projects and actions in one term.
- 2010: 1,440 children and young people in play-based learning activities.
- 2011: County Volunteer Centre, training for 60 volunteers from 25 NGOs.

- Current status
- Proposed as the first area for the relaunch pilot.
- What could restart
- A volunteering programme for young people, built on the Friends of PRO experience. It starts only once there is a coordinator and an approved budget.
- What we do not do now
- The programmes above have ended. We do not currently have an active volunteer network.
